Here's a great way to keep track of changes to the wiki without actually needing to surf to the wiki:
If you don't know what an RSS or Atom feed is, that's okay. They're just ways to collate information from different sites on to one page for easy viewing. There are stand-alone RSS readers, but the easiest way to do things is to just use a web 2.0 homepage like a Gmail/google or yahoo homepage. I use a free service called netvibes mostly because it uses tiny font and I can fit a lot of stuff on one page (no signup or anything - just go to www.netvibes.com). I use a netvibes page to collate all my favorite blogs, email messages, newspapers, search engines, etc. You can see a screenshot of what it can do here: Netvibes screenshot. You can also use Thunderbird, if that is your email client, but I like netvibes to be my homepage when I open a browser.
I'm going to assume you use Netvibes for this, but it's applicable to any web service that handles RSS. We'll be using an Atom feed, which is similar to RSS.
Step 1:
Open your Netvibes page.
Click "add content"
Next, click "add a feed"
Setp 2:
Copy this link:
Atom link
Right-click and "copy link location" in Firefox.
Step 3:
Paste the link into your Netvibes pagewhere it says "enter a URL."

Step 4:
A login should pop up, and you need to type in your UIowa login/pass.
That's it! When you're finished, it should look like this:
