Access Rights
The University of Iowa Wiki Service allows for both public and private content. Private content requires authentication using the HawkID system or a guest account. Permissions for wikis are set by the wiki administrator. Instructions on how to set permissions can be found on the Administration Support page.
Files
Files can be stored on the wiki as attachments. All files are scanned for viruses before being stored on a wiki. If a virus is found, you will see an error message and description of the virus found. There is a file size limit for attachments of 5 MB per file.
Browsers
The following browsers are recommended for use with the Wiki Service
- Firefox 2.0.x and 3.0.x
- Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0
- Safari 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 (rich-text editing is NOT supported in Safari)
Using other browsers may cause problems using some of the features of the Wiki Service, such as the rich text editor.
