A 14 year-old student gunman opened fire in a downtown SuccessTech High School Wednesday before killing himself, and injuring four people who have now been taken to the hospital, authorities said. Mayor Frank Jackson said: "He has committed suicide as I understand it."

The wounded were two men aged 42 and 57 and two male students ages 17 and 14. Jackson also said a third student, a 14-year-old girl, was injured in a fall.

Police said SuccessTech Academy had been secured and that the lone suspect had fatally shot himself. Students said he was enrolled at the alternative school but did not attend class Wednesday.
