Description

This is a later add on to the SIS import integration. It handles "drops" for students in those courses receiving automatic enrollment.

In previous course management systems, drops were not handled automatically specifically because of the dangers of lost data. If a student were removed from a given course site, all of that student's course data (grades, discussion board posts, quiz attempts, etc.) would be permanently deleted.

In ICON, we can unenroll a student from a course website with confidence that their data is fully preserved in a hidden state, and will be restored in the case that the student is added to the course again.

Student drops are handled at the same time as the other steps in SIS import, during an overnight batch job.
