2010 Sundance Theatre Labs

Get ready for the new 2010 Sundance Institute Theatre Labs. Previously held in July at the Sundance Resort in Utah's Wasatch Mountains, the Theatre Lab is RElocating to the East Coast for two programs while the Resort undergoes construction. With a Theatre Lab at Mass MoCA and a Theatre Lab on Governors Island, the Theatre Program provides two new protected environments and artistic communities for playwrights, directors, composers, and librettists to develop new work with the support of dramaturgs and full casts.

Theatre Lab at Mass MoCA
March 28 - April 11, 2010
Held at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA amid the beauty of the Berkshire Mountains, this new lab offers a rare opportunity for a community of independent artists to engage with their stories, ask questions, build text, and experiment with new approaches to their work.

Theatre Lab at Governors Island
May 23 - June 6, 2010

Our first urban-centered developmental program, is a two-week developmental retreat held on New York's historical Governor's Island in collaboration with the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation. Focused on providing an environment that cultivates risk-taking and creative exploration, this non-residential Lab also includes activities that celebrate the rich resources of New York Harbor.
