Project Summary
The Flood Commemoration Benefit will take place on June 15th, 2009 at the IMU Grand Ballroom. This banquet will include a photo gallery prior to the dinner to allow victims and residents of the area to display viewpoints on the disastrous flood. Dinner will include a silent auction, with dinner catered by a flood affected business. The Benefit's guest speaker will be Sally Mason, speaking about the impact of the flood on the University, faculty, and students. This event will welcome all Universityof Iowa faculty, staff, and students, residents of Iowa City/Coralville affected by the flood. Donations, as well as profits from silent auction, will be donated to local businesses or families affected by the flood.

Recreation Administration Group #1 Commemorates the Iowa City Flood of 2008
Iowa City, Iowa, - February 25, 2009 - In commemoration of the 2008 Iowa City floods Recreation administration group # 1 will be hosting a benefitt on June 15, 2009 in the grand ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union located on the intersection of Madison and Jefferson Street (319-335-3114).
Before dinner, guests will be invited to display and view photos from the flood, as well as bid on the silent auction gift packages. During dinner, keynote speaker, Sally Mason, will address guests about the floods impact on the University and surrounding areas. University students, faculty, and staff, as well as residents and victims from the surrounding area are invited to purchase tickets to attend this benefit. Ticket will be sold in advance for $50 per ticket.
All proceeds from this event will go directly to area flood relief.
