Come to a West Side Water Carnival!
On June 15th, there will be a carnival on the West side of the river commemorating the flood of 2008. Daytime activities include rubber duck races, UI rowing team races, water balloon tosses, build-a-boat races, and carnival games. In the evening, there will be a concert featuring UI choirs ending with a performance by Ben Folds. Throughout the day, food will be served by the restaurants that were affected by the flood along with classic carnival food. There will also be a craft fair held for local artists to showcase and sell their work. All profits made will go to those who were distressed by the flood. Listen to terrific music, eat tasty food, and have a great time while supporting your community!
