Hello and Welcome to The University of Iowa Choral Audition Wiki Site!
Auditions times for FALL 2019 are now open! If you would like to sing in one of our excellent choirs here at UIowa, please 1) read the information below; 2) download, print, and fill out the Audition Form (click on "Audition Form" below), and 3) sign up for an audition time by clicking on one of the days to the left or at the bottom of this page and follow the directions on how to sign up for a time.
If you have any questions, please contact the director of choral activities, Dr. Timothy Stalter, at email@example.com or by calling 319-335-1677 and he will get back to you ASAP.
Audition results will be announced by 12:00 noon on Friday, August 30th, 2019 and a link to the results will be posted on this page.
Please do not use Internet Explorer to sign up for an audition time. It can be an unreliable and unstable web browser with this WIKI site. Please use Safari, Firefox, or Google Chrome. Thank you!
IMPORTANT---Audition Form: Please fill out this Audition Form prior to your audition and bring it, along with your FALL semester class schedule, to your audition.
Audition Procedures: Each audition is a relaxed 6 minutes and you will be asked to do the following:
1. Sing simple exercises to show your range (how high and low).
2. Listen to some pitches we play on the piano and sing back what you hear.
3. Sing part of a piece of your choosing or, if you do not have a piece to sing, we will have you sing something else you might know ("My Country 'Tis of Thee" or something like it; an accompanist will be provided for you if you bring a prepared piece. The piece does not have to be memorized.
4. Sing a few short examples of music we provide for you.
