Galaxy Hands-on training:


Learn how to use the Galaxy system, a method to make complex bioinformatics workflows simple, reproducible and shareable. It is a great tool, it would be nice to be familiar with next generation sequencing and a little bit of background in genetics/genomics. All work will be done in a web browser.

RStudio Hands-on training:


A very basic introduction to using RStudio. This class will begin to introduce you to working with the statistical programing language R. We will try to keep it easy and show you how, with a little bit of skill you can really use powerful, free statistical packages that are cutting edge bioinformatics tools. This will involve a little bit of "programming" but we intend it to be quite accessible. You should have a good familiarity with genetics/genomics and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
