The Department of Theatre Arts Production of

May 6 and 7

Due to the special requirements of this exciting musical we need to hold early auditions in advance of the Department’s fall general auditions to avoid conflicts with other shows in the area. Women in the Department of Theatre under 5’ in height who want to be considered for the role of Little Alison Bechdal will need to participate in this audition.

The Story:

Based on Alison Bechdel's best-selling graphic memoir, Fun Home introduces us to Alison at three different ages, revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family – her mother, brothers and volatile, brilliant, enigmatic father – that connect with her in surprising new ways. A refreshingly honest musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes, Fun Home is “a blazingly original heartbreaker and a nonstop treasure of invention.”

The Roles:

Alison Bechdal – 9 years old

Christian Bechdal – 10 years old

John Bechdal – 6 years old

Ages are relative depending on size and appearance.
