TAdvanced Acting Auditions: Musical Theatre
Any student who wishes to take this course must audition!
Students already approved for Advanced Acting Courses:
If you have already been approved to take advanced acting classes then you only need to prepare 16 – 32 bars of a ballad from a musical. You must bring your music for the accompanist. You will not be allowed to sing a cappella.
Students who have not been approved for Advanced Acting Courses and also wish to be considered for Musical Theatre:
You must prepare 16 – 32 bars of a ballad from a musical and one contemporary monologue; no longer than one and a half minutes, that you feel best demonstrates your strengths. You must bring your music for the accompanist. You will not be allowed to sing a cappella.
Students who only wish to be approved for non-musical Advanced Acting classes:
Prepare one contemporary monologue; no longer than one and a half minutes, that you feel best demonstrates your strengths.
Auditions: Saturday, October 24 from 10am-11:30am in 166 TB
Spring 2016 offering: THTR:4144 Acting: Special Topics – Musical Theatre
YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED ACTING II BY THE END OF THE CURRENT SEMESTER TO AUDITION.
Note: Beginning in fall 2016, students will be required to have taken (or be concurrently taking) Acting II, Voice for the Actor, AND Theatre Movement before they can audition for Advanced Acting. If you have questions about satisfying these additional requirements before the end of fall 2016, see Tiffany or Paul.
