On January 8th, 2024 the University of Iowa Wiki hosted at https://wiki.uiowa.edu will be shut down permanently. If you would like to continue using Confluence (Wiki) in the Cloud, you will need to request licenses by filling out this Workflow form if you haven't done so already.

  • Why can't I add an individual student to my wiki space?

Problem: If you are unable to search for a student, when adding individual users to your wiki space, it may be that the user has never logged into the wiki.uiowa.edu system. As a result, this user does not exist within the wiki system. Hawk IDs (which is also the log in method for ICON) are added to the wiki system upon first logging into the system. 

The workaround: Ask the student to go to wiki.uiowa.edu and log into the system using their Hawk ID and password (just as they would with email or ICON). The user will then be added to the system, allowing you to search for their ID and add them to your wiki space under "Space Tools".
